Associate Professor in Latina and Latino Studies 

Northwestern University solicits nominations and applications for a new Associate Professor position in Latina and Latino Studies. This faculty position is fully in the Latina and Latino Studies Program and will begin on September 1, 2019. We will consider applicants with doctoral degrees in any related field, but the teaching and research of all applicants should be explicitly interdisciplinary and must engage the core questions, approaches, and methodological advances that have defined, and continue to define, Latina/o Studies. Northwestern is located in Greater Chicago, a region with one of the largest transnational Latina and Latino populations in the United States. The Latina and Latino Studies Program is cross-disciplinary and offers a major and minor for undergraduate students. Core faculty members and affiliates are situated in various departments and across Northwestern’s several schools. Candidates must be engaged with Latino Studies through a distinguished record of scholarship, research, teaching, and related professional activities that merit appointment at the rank of tenured associate professor in the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences ( Duties include teaching four courses per year and participation in program committees, mentoring of majors and undergraduates engaging in research, and collaborating with other ethnic studies and interdisciplinary units, in addition to a dynamic research agenda.
